All Races in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Will Have Unique Transformations

Stop us if you encountered this problem too in the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse. You boot up the game and see the multitude of races to choose from. You want to try something new or want to represent the human race by being a bad ass human character. But none of them have super cool, super saiyan transformations and you wrestled with the decision far longer than you’d like to admit. You were not alone. Luckily, J-Patrol flagged down the producer of Xenoverse 2, Masayuki Hirano, at this year’s Japan Expo and ask him all about it. View the whole conversation in the video below.

The sequel will feature special transformations for every race in the form of “awaken powers”. Currently, only two races (besides saiyans and super saiyan 3) have been showcased utilizing their new, upgrade capability. The golden form for Frieza’s race and the wacky, ability to change blue for the majin race. The former’s form was made famous in the recent movie, Resurrection F, where Frieza came back to life and achieved the golden form to defeat Goku. As for the majin ability to become stronger by transforming blue…we got nothing.

Mr. Hirano also detailed a few other things like super saiyan god and movie plots being integral to the story of Xenoverse 2. He is hesitant to give players access to the super saiyan god ability due to balancing reasons. If fan feedback is there though then it’s definitely something his team will look at. As long as other races have a fair equivalent. Regarding movie plots, he mentioned that they won’t be featured in the core story of the game but is definitely open to feedback.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will release on PlayStation 4 on October 25th and can be pre-ordered here.
