A new color will be joining the DualShock 4 lineup in April. The Alpine Green color will combine a very sharp green controller top with a snow white bottom. White buttons and sticks will add further accents to the top, and the D-pad will have yellow directional arrows.
If you want to be one of the first to have the new color, you can check retailers to pre-order. The US PlayStation Blog doesn’t list an official release date, but Gamestop shows an April 25th release date. The EU PlayStation Blog is showing an April 15th release date. The new color is not a special edition, so it will be the standard MSRP wherever you are.
If you had told me a while ago that I would really care about the color of which DualShock 4 I use, I would have said you’re crazy. Now that I try to only use the one Magma Red DS4 I have, I have learned the error of my ways. The time of the Henry Ford DS4 color scheme has been over for a while, and alpine green looks like a nice addition.
Be sure to give your opinion on the new color and whether you care about the controller’s aesthetic in the comments.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
