AO Tennis 2 has been announced by publisher BIGBEN and developer Big Ant Studios for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms. What’s more is that we even have a release date: January 9th is when you’ll be able to get on the courts again, barring any unforeseen delays, that is.
I remember playing AO International Tennis last year and I wasn’t too impressed, but hopefully, this new outing by Big Ant Studios will give tennis fans the game they deserve. On paper, it’s sounding good. The single-player career will now be a narrative-driven career mode where you’ll take a young player from rags to riches, with off-court events having an effect on the court.
The content editor is back again, allowing players to customise every element of their game. That’s not all. All of the content created by players since last year’s release will be available in AO Tennis 2, meaning there will be over 20,000 players and hundreds of fan-made arenas to play in.
If you want to play as your favourite tennis player, you can do that, too, as the AO Tennis 2 roster includes the likes of Rafael Nadal, Ash Barty and Angélique Kerber, to name just a few of the officially licensed players.
Big Ant Studios has also been listening to feedback from fans and has stated that AO Tennis 2 will implement a lot of the fixes and features that players suggested after the first game released. Hopefully, it pays off and we’ll finally get a tennis game that does the sport justice.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
