Assassin’s Creed III Remastered has an official release date, as announced by Ubisoft today. The game, which is available as part of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Season Pass content, can be pre-ordered from today ahead of its March 29th release date.
To coincide with the release date announcement, Ubisoft has released a brand new comparison trailer showing the numerous improvements to Assassin’s Creed III Remastered. The trailer is up above and is well worth a watch if you’re interested in going back into Connor’s story of redemption. To be fair to Ubisoft, it doesn’t look like this is another Ezio Collection. The Ezio trilogy on PS4 was a little disappointing in that the improvements were mainly a resolution bump up to 1080p and some changes to the game’s colouring. Assassin’s Creed III Remastered looks to be a fairly decent upgrade over the original release with the improvements being very clearly marked in the trailer.
Assassin’s Creed III Remastered will have improved graphics and lighting, as well as support for HDR and 4K on PS4 Pro. You’ll get all the single player DLC, as well as Assassin’s Creed: Liberation Remastered, which originally released as a PS Vita exclusive before being ported to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The cost? $39.99. That’s not a bad price for two remastered games, though some would argue they’re the least appealing entries in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Not me – I’m a big fan of both, so roll on March 29th!
