Here’s an odd one for you: Abubakar Salim, the chap who did an excellent job at bringing Bayek to life in the fantastic Assassin’s Creed Origins, has launched his own game studio today named Silver Rain Games.
The actor-turned-studio head has revealed that his studio will be creating and directing a new game IP with Silver Rain’s studio head, Melissa Phillips, and a growing team of developers. There’s no word yet on what the project is as Salim has stated that it’s still in the prototype stage. This means we’re unlikely to see the game, whatever it may be, release on PS4, but perhaps a PS5 release is on the cards?
Speaking of his new venture, Salim noted, “The games industry is so inspiring. I grew up in games, so it only feels natural to make the leap into creating them. I want to be able to give back to an industry and audience that has supported me and hopefully bring a fresh perspective to the table.”
Mel Phillips states, “It’s hugely exciting to begin working on a new IP. We are currently in the prototype stage. We are keen to hear from all levels of talent who might potentially fit into our team and will be looking for funding opportunities over the next few months.”

Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
