The titanic expansion, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle, delivered three explosive trailers today. They all deal with upcoming ways to smash your favorite titans, before they can turn the townspeople into hors d’oeuvres. The first one lives up to the old “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” adage. They show a transformation with the beast titan going to town on the other rank and file nude, cannibal giants. You also destroy part of the town, so you may not be as friendly and protective as it seems at first.
The other two show the Scouts finally bringing a gun to a knife fight, and they come in two destructive flavors. The first part of the Showdown Equipment is the thunder spears. If you want a giant explosion, and, honestly, who doesn’t, this is the right tool for the job. The gatling gun gives you less initial kaboom, but more variety with its different ammo types. They include numbing, explosive, attrition, scatter, incendiary, and even the everyday regular shot. It’s high rate of fire will rip apart a tall titan in short order.
The benefit of this equipment is twofold. First, either is a lot more powerful than the usual blades carried by the Scouts. More power equals fewer titans. The second benefit is that you can blast away from a distance, instead of having to be up close and personal for a kill. If the titans can’t reach you, they can’t eat you.
I’ll put the transformation trailer at the top, and the two weapon trailers at the bottom. If you have been wanting a reason to jump back into the world, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle will give you plenty of new content when it releases on July 5th.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
