Crash Team Racing Nitro-fueled made it to number one in its launch week. But it also had a rather big problem in the bug department. In fact, it’s the worst kind of bug imaginable to any gamer – the dreaded corrupted save.
This is an issue that was reported by the community but also confirmed by the team behind the scenes. We can therefore confirm that it is a “thing” that needs to be looked at, which is exactly what Activision are doing. But in the meantime, they’re advising players avoid the time trial mode until the next patch is released.
This update is expected to drop in the next few days, and will address the save issue; it apparently happens when your ghost data exceeds a certain amount – though we’re oblivious to that threshold. Until then, we can only advise you follow the official advice. Or scupper your own save. It does at least give you enough time to read our review, which you can find here. Especially if you’re still on the fence.
There will be a lot more to the 3rd of July update than just a corrupted save fix, however. Wumpa coins will be better balanced, for starters, whilst top three finishers online will enjoy a podium animation. The first Grand Prix season will be kicking off – offering you the chance to unlock new drivers along with a brand new karting track. And all players will be eligible for a 2,500 wumpa coin bonus; simply race online before the 4th of July and pit. Simples.
All in all, it’s quite a bountiful patch that has a bit of something for everyone.
Are you avoiding time trials like the plague? Or do you like living dangerously – especially in a game with a name like Crash Team Racing Nitro-fueled? Drift below and share your wumpa fruits of wisdom.
