Indie developer Aurélien Regard and publisher Playdius have released their brand new game, Away: Journey to the Unexpected, today on PS4, ahead of its releases on other platforms later this week.
To celebrate the PS4 release of the game, a brand new launch trailer has been let loose. Direct your peepers upwards and you’ll find the new trailer embedded up above with about a minute and a bit of gameplay.
Away: Journey to the Unexpected is a first-person adventure game, but unlike most other first-person games, this is one that’ll make you feel good without all the macho shooting and gore. Because, unlike in other games, you’re not a hero or a bulked up solider – you’re just an ordinary lad who makes friends that help along the way. Being super nice to people is part of the gameplay, and if you’re nice to the characters you meet along the way, you’ll be able to recruit them to help you fight.
Away: Journey to the Unexpected is out today on PS4 and costs $16.99/€16.99/£13.49. There’s also support for the following languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese. Great for those nations and polyglots.
Colourful and unique visuals created by renowned artist and developer Aurélien Regard (The Next Penelope)
A refreshing, light-hearted story packed full of adventure and humour
A first person adventure with fast-paced combat and rogue-lite elements
A vast cast of quirky characters to meet, convince and recruit to fight for you
Underpinned by an anime-inspired soundtrack
