Can you believe that it’s 2018 and the PS Vita is still getting retail releases? No, we can’t either, but the press release that’s landed on our desks says otherwise as Tom Happ’s critically acclaimed Axiom Verge is heading to retail later this month on PS4 and PS Vita.
The physical release of Axiom Verge on PS4 and PS Vita will come in two editions. There’ll be the regular edition and the deluxe Multiverse release that comes bundled with some fancy gear:
- Copy of Axiom Verge on disc/cartridge.
- Deluxe booklet with developer’s commentary and art.
- Double-sided poster with the world map and weapons/items in the game.
- Exclusive making-of documentary.
Not bad for fans wanting to show their appreciation for one of the best Metroid-vania style games in a long, long time, right? The press release notes that Axiom Verge will be hitting retail stores on January 26th in the UK, though there’s nothing mentioned about the game’s pricing or other regions. We’ll keep an eye out for more information and let you know when we know more.
Will you be double/triple dipping on Axiom Verge to get a physical copy? Or have you pledged your allegiance to a digital-only future?
We sometimes link to online retail stores. If you buy something from our links, we may make a small commission which goes towards keeping the lights on and coffee in the pot.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
