DICE’s Battlefield 1 has a brand new trailer to celebrate its upcoming showing at Gamescom 2016. Unfortunately we won’t be in Cologne this year (sad face) but we’ll still do our best to cover the event as it unfolds.
The latest trailer is billed as the ‘Official Gamescom Gameplay’ trailer, and it’s a whopper. There’s solider riding horses while brandishing swords, tanks blowing stuff up, and planes raining thunder on poor little ground fellows. It’s a really well put together trailer, even if it does borrow heavily from the Michael Bay school of explosions.
EA and DICE have also confirmed that the Battlefield 1 beta will be starting on PS4 this August 31st. You’ll need to sign up to become a Battlefield Insider, then you’ll be able to request the console of your choice. We’re obviously going to be going for PS4. Duh.
At the time of writing this article the EA website was running like an asthmatic that smokes 20-a-day, though we reckon that’s because everyone’s piled onto the site to try and nab a place in the beta. Maybe give it a shot in a few hours from now once all the eager beavers have had their turn.
Battlefield 1 launches on October 18th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Providing we get into the beta, we’ll be posting our thoughts on the game in just a few weeks time. You can pre-order your copy here from Amazon.
We sometimes link to online retail stores. If you buy something from our links, we may make a small commission which goes towards keeping the lights on and coffee in the pot.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
