The next entry in the long-running Battlefield series will be revealed by EA and developer DICE just before E3 kicks off.
EA and DICE have announced that the next Battlefield game, possibly called Battlefield 6 (but honestly, it could be called Battlefield II if previous naming conventions are to go by…) will be revealed on June 9th, 2021.
Recent rumours have pointed towards the series jumping back to a modern-day setting after spending a couple of games in old-timey WWI and WWII. Hopefully, the naming of the new game will be less confusing than the last couple of games: Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V. Really, what were they thinking?
Battlefield 6 – Release date? Trailer? Story mode? Multiplayer?
But what will the reveal event bring? A trailer? A release date? Yes and maybe. Without a doubt, we will get a trailer showing off the game and maybe even a deep dive with a developer talking us through a section of the game, most likely the single-player potion.
We’ll definitely get some info on the game’s multiplayer – the main selling point for many players. But what about a release date? Maybe. If the game is truly set to release this year, we’ll most likely get a trailer that ends with the screen turning to black, a brief dramatic pause, and then “Coming INSERT DATE” and then logos for the last-gen and new-gen platforms, and then a splash screen with the 200 different editions of the game that you can pre-order. That’s what you can expect. It’s what you’re going to get, too.
