Bethesda is Over the Moon With Doom Eternal’s Sales

We might not have any specific numbers to go on, but according to Bethesda, Doom Eternal has made more than twice as much money as its predecessor over the first few days of sales. And that has understandably been christened a success. That can only mean the game is more than worth your time, plus another future sequel is almost a given.

So, does that mean Bethesda has finally got something right?

Now, although PlayStation specific stats were missing, they did share with us facts about its success on the personal computer. Figures that certainly back up their excitement at such a successful launch. In fact, Doom Eternal was the top grossing game of last week over on Steam, which is no easy feat given the vast selection of games that are available. Not to mention the extra “free time” we’ve found ourselves with…

All of this also goes hand in glove with the positive press attention it has received, along with the very complimentary reviews that have gone live in the time since launch. I can only imagine we’ll see it positioned quite high on this week’s sales chart – and I’m going to take a punt by saying it’ll be staying around for some time, yet.

So, perhaps it is “well done, Bethesda”, after all – even if there are a few criticisms doing the rounds: some have found the first few missions quite boring whilst others aren’t too complimentary of its¬†platforming sections. But, the question is, do you agree?
