We’re already there, aren’t we? By that I mean the point in a console generation where we all start looking forwards to the release of new hardware from Sony and Microsoft. To be fair, it is six years, more or less, since the PS4 and Xbox One released, so naturally we’re all looking forward to getting some new toys.
That’s not to say the next-gen machines will suddenly be on store shelves, but they are being worked on. Bethesda’s media-friendly Pete Hines knows this, and he even knows a bit about them, but don’t expect to hear specifics anytime soon.
Hines recently sat down with Yahoo News and spoke a little on Bethesda’s future games, as well as briefly touching on the subject of the next-gen machines.
“I am curious to see what it looks like and how it’s different. I’m privy to some stuff which obviously I can’t really talk about, but there is also a lot that I’m not sure on what it’s going to look like. And more importantly how big a shift we can expect.”
So, yeah, of course this guy knows some stuff about what’s coming, and I’d hazard a guess that most of the big players in the industry are in some way informed. It’s only a matter of time, then, until the rumour mill starts turning.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
