Bloodborne and Ratchet and Clank are the PS Plus Games for March; PS3 and Vita Games Going Away

Next month’s PS Plus games have been announced, and there are two very different titles coming to the PS4. Bloodbourne is the punishing, Souls-like RPG exclusive to the PS4. You go to the cursed city of Yharnam, strategically fight a lot of dangerous creatures, and die a lot. Take a lot of deaths and multiply it by a lot of deaths, mix in a dark, gothic landscape, addictive gameplay, and you are getting the idea.

For people wanting a more colorful game that doesn’t take the same glee in sending you to the afterlife, Ratchet and Clank will also be available as a PS Plus game next month. It is a remake of the original PS2 classic with much better visuals, an hour of new cinematics from the 2016 movie, and new weapons. This platforming shooter series has a special place in many PlayStation hearts, so it is nice to see it receiving some PS Plus love.

New games are not the only changes. Beginning March 8, 2019, PS3 and PS Vita games will not be included in the PS Plus offerings. The rationale is that most people are playing on the PS4 and they abandoned the PS Vita to die a miserable death that is where the focus should be.

We cannot really disagree. At this point, it makes more sense to put the dollars where your players are. No other PS Plus benefits are expected to change for now, and any games that you previously obtained will not be removed. We do hope they intend to add more PSVR games and PS4 games in the future to continue to earn our subscription fees.

Speaking of subscriptions, maybe they could throw in free access to PS Now for gamers who still want to play on the PS3, or they could partner with other companies to increase the value of PS Plus with access to specific company catalogs. There are many ways for this to be a positive change, and we hope to hear something at E3 in a few months.

For now, here are the PS3 and PS Vita titles for March. You should scoop them up, so you can still have them for as long as your PS Plus membership is active.

  • Mighty No. 9, PS3 (Cross Buy with PS4)
