If you’re looking for something new today and skipping out on Cyberpunk 2077, Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia is bringing some strategy RPG to your PS4. It’s actually a return to PlayStation, since the last one was on the PlayStation One. The story focuses on the fantasy land of Runersia. You’ll lead one of six nations vying for control and make the land your own using Rune Knights and different creatures in your army. It’s promising hundreds of hours of gameplay and boasts a good developer pedigree.
If that sounds daunting, you can try the free demo today. You’ll take control of the Norzaleo Kingdom and be limited to easy difficulty. The tutorial mode will walk you through how to play and a training mode will give you a taste of the real gameplay. It’s also limited in scope, but you can replay it to test new strategies. Unlike some demos, your progress will not carry over to the full game.
The new “Titans and the Iron Front” update is also available today. It includes quality of life improvements and new content, a new custom difficulty, new UI, and it’s something you’ll want to let download fully before you start playing for the best experience. The trailer at the top goes into more detail on all the features, and it’s significant.
Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia is available today for $49.99/£39.99.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
