Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s VR Experience is Free, and It’s Actually Really Good

Here’s something we didn’t expect from Call of Duty publisher Activision: The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare VR demo, Jackal Assault, can be downloaded for free. No pre-orders, no need to own Infinite Warfare or one of its expensive bundles. Just pure free stuff.

Granted, it’s not the biggest thing in the world, but for PlayStation VR owners looking for a fresh experience in between big releases, this should do the job. Plus, it’s free, damn it!

The Jackal Assault demo puts you in the cockpit of one of Infinite Warfare’s space fighters for a 10-minute or so experience. It’s not the deepest or longest VR experience, though it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re an owner of Sony’s fancy head gear.

What do you make of the free demo? Good move by Activision, or are you still sour about how the publisher is locking Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered behind the expensive versions of Infinite Warfare? Ghilly up in the comments section below.

  1. It’s both free and good, what more could one ask for? Now I don’t have to load up the demo disc and the EVE Valkyrie demo every time I want to have a fly around space, and unlike the EVE demo, JackAss doesn’t end just as it’s getting good!
