Zen Studios has announced that Castlestorm 2 will release on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this July 31st. The announcement came by way of IGN’s Summer of Gaming IGN Expo, and there’s even a fancy trailer full of the typical humour you’d expect from the game series.
Castlestorm 2 will expand on what made the original game a fan favourite, with two story-driven campaigns, procedurally generated maps, factions you can choose to fight for, and much, much more. It’s looking great and I for one am really excited to get my hands on the full release this summer.
If you’re looking forward to Castlestorm 2 and can’t wait to try it out, you can play the free demo that is available now. However, the demo isn’t available on PS4 or other consoles; it’s PC only, and you’ll need to get it via the Epic Games Launcher. Still, a free demo is a free demo, and they’re something of a rarity these days, so you can guarantee I’ve got the demo downloading as I sit here and type this article.
I’ll post my thoughts over the weekend after giving the demo a thorough going over, so if you can’t play the demo on PC, you’ll be able to read my thoughts here on Pure PlayStation. Alternatively, you can check out our review of Castlestorm VR for PSVR – it’s a cracking game and definitely worth a look if you’ve got a PSVR headset to hand.
