Chasing Static

Chasing Static Gets a Creepy New Trailer

Chasing a release on PS5 and PS4 this year.

During Realms Deep 2021, the digital event hosted by 3D Realms and Friends showcased another trailer for the upcoming psychological horror Chasing Static, by Headware Games and Ratalaika Games.

This is Headware’s second indie title and it’s nothing like the studio’s first game, Guard Duty. which is a point-and-click adventure set in a fantasy world. Chasing Static is a challenge for the studio that hopes to create adventure games with a focus on accessibility and interactive stories.

With that in mind, the story of Chasing Static is very interesting. This first-person short story explores the wilderness of rural Wales, as you play as a detective-like character who is trying to undercover a thread of mysterious disappearances of villagers from the village of Hearth.

By using a static-laden device that can pick up the conversations of lost souls – hence the game’s title, Chasing Static – you’ll be able to solve the creative and head-scratching puzzles and put together the pieces of a generation-spanning conspiracy that combines spiritual speculation and the hidden secrets of a government research facility.

We also got a showcase of the lovely voices behind two of the characters in the game as they spoke throughout the video revealing a part of this eerie tale. We even got to hear the sad and unfortunate story of our main character who seems to have a connection with this little village of Hearth.

In Chasing Static you’ll receive all the high-quality audio and acting of a modern horror game but in a deliberately retro style that brings back memories of playing Silent Hill on PS2.

Chasing Static is due to release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in the third quarter of this year.
