This American Pure PlayStation writer has never felt less qualified to write an article than I do right now. But am I going to let that stop me? Nope. Ashes Cricket, from Big Ant Studios, Australia’s premier sports video game developer, is dropping November 16th. Developed in close collaboration with Cricket Australia, they promise the most realistic and authentic recreation of the sport ever created.
Ashes Cricket will feature full player and stadium license, along with photo-real player scans. If realism isn’t your cup ‘o tea, you can instead create your own players, teams, stadiums, and even logos. Gamers can also create their own competitions and match types, such as over match or extended multi-nation Test match tours. I don’t know what any of that means, but it sounds intense. The game is also going to include a comprehensive career mode. Now, you can take your very own junior cricketer all the way from obscurity to the ultimate dream of captaining their country to Ashes victory.
“Time and time again players tell us the feature they love most about our cricket games is the deep customization options,” Big Ant CEO, Ross Symons said. “We have produced a true Ashes Cricket game, through and through, but we’ve also made sure that our heritage in sports games remains true”.
If all of this is a bit confusing, check out the game trailer above. And don’t forget, cricket is not just an annoying insect.
