Dust off them skater shoes, punks, Deficit Games announced today that VR Skater will make its way to PSVR eventually. We don’t have an exact release day just yet, but they plan to release VR Skater as an early access release on PCVR headsets in the Spring of 2020. The PC version will be the focus first, but a PlayStation VR and Quest version are also in the works.
The idea of virtual skateboarding is intriguing and if the gameplay video above is any indication, it looks like it could be a lot of fun. We haven’t had a great skating game in a long time, so if Germany based Deficit Games can pull it off – and in VR no less – then massive kudos to them.
It no doubt requires a sturdy pair of VR legs, but VR Skater is definitely on my watch list. How about you? Does virtual skateboarding sound like fun, or has that dreadful Tony Hawk plastic skateboard controller ruined this idea for you? Let me know in the comments below.
