Control Ultimate Edition Celebrates Next-Gen Release With 4K Ultimate Trailer

Today, Remedy’s fantastic Control gets a second wind thanks to Control: Ultimate Edition, which is also releasing on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version of the game is out today, and free via PS Plus if you’re a paying member. On PS5, you can expect better framerates, higher resolutions, and generally better gameplay than on the last-gen consoles, which ran the game a little poorly on release.

“We are really excited for people to experience Control Ultimate Edition on the new Sony and Microsoft consoles. The next-generation version of the game offers greatly improved load times, improved frame rates, higher resolution, and a wealth of support for platform-specific features. Even the map loads faster! We are especially excited about some of the more immersive gameplay features, which will help you become even more engaged in the role of Director and give a more realistic feel to wielding your transforming Service Weapon,” said Remedy’s Communications Director, Thomas Puha.

It’s a nice touch to see that Remedy has given the DaulSense controller some extra attention, too, as well as putting some time into implementing the Activities and Help features.

For now, Control: Ultimate Edition is only available digitally, though there will be a physical version releasing at retail for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 2nd, 2021.
