As previously rumoured and even hinted at by Crytek, the rest of the Crysis trilogy will be coming to consoles and PC.
Crytek has announced that Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3 will be coming to consoles and PC later this year, though there is no release date. The given release window is autumn 2021. Yay, just one more season to go!
The trilogy will be sold as a single package but you’ll also be able to buy the games individually, which is handy if you have a particular hatred towards any game in the series. Crysis 2 can burn in the fires of hell as far as I’m concerned, but I’m also remembering it as the game I played during my recovery from a tonsillectomy, so maybe it’s not that bad? I’ll find out when the trilogy releases and I inevitably pick up review duties.
The teaser trailer below shows the remastered versions without going into much detail, though there is a tease towards the end that the games will be even better on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the trailer stating that the trilogy has been “optimised for next-gen.” Maybe this means there will be extra features for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S? Or it could be that the game just runs better on the newer consoles by default. We’ll have to wait and see.
