Cube Life: Island Survivor is the ‘Other Minecraft’ You Didn’t Know You Wanted, Coming Spring 2017
Have you heard of Cube Life: Island Survivor? It released on the Wii U a while back and became something of a hit. It looks and play similarly to another ‘cubey’ game that’s also on PS4 right now: Minecraft. However, we’d be fools to call Cube Life a simple Minecraft clone.
Did you know that Minecraft was released after another game called Infiniminer? Infiniminer was… Well, it was Minecraft before Minecraft was born. So to call Cube Life a clone would be a little foolish, and we’re no fools. Most of the time…
The point is that Cube Life: Island Survivor will be making its way to the PS4 this Spring, as announced in a new trailer for the game. It’s immediately evident that Cube Life is a little different. Sure it takes the same basic gameplay mechanics, though there are some original ideas in there too, but it’s the game’s presentation that makes it stand out from the crowd. Instead of being a stylised pixel-world, Cube Life actually aims for something a little more real. If you’ve ever played Minecraft on PC with some elaborate mods, you’ll know what to expect.
We’re actually rather looking forward to this one, so we’ll be keeping an eye and an ear out for more information, as well as bringing you a review around the time of release.
What do you make of Cube Life? Would you call it a Minecraft clone? Does that even matter to you? Mine your way through our comment island down below. Watch out for the lava…
