In what may turn out to be many people’s game of the year, Cyberpunk 2077 has a bullet hype train of enthusiasm. Today’s trio of trailers does nothing to quench that and only makes the wait until December 10th that much harder. First up, we have a gameplay trailer giving us an overview of the world in a little over five minutes. From the people, story, clothes, guns, vehicles, skills, and more, this is what you show someone who doesn’t get why you are excited about the game.
The second trailer is all about the enigmatic Johnny Silverhand. A former rocker with a love for violence is (no spoilers) forcibly partnered with your character, and you will be helping him to get revenge. Keanu Reeves plays the character, and it will be interesting to see where the overall story goes.
Finally, the last trailer showcases JALI, the software that helps to give each character a realistic lip-synching and facial performance in the game. The amount of characters and dialogue is huge. Using the audio from the voice actors, the software gives an authentic recreation on screen. The technology lets the animators change how the character is speaking to change how it is represented for the player. It’s some impressive tech.
The gameplay trailer is at the top, and JALI and Johnny Silverhand are at the bottom. If you’re still reading this, get to those trailers and take a nap for the next three weeks until the game is out. We can’t wait to step into Night City and Cyberpunk 2077 when it takes over our lives on December 10th.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
