Cyberpunk 2077 Has Street Stories, Side Quests And Minor Quests

Cyberpunk 2077 sounds like it’ll be keeping us busy for quite a while after the head of the studio outlined its content. In fact, alongside the main story and usual side quests, we can expect a further series of minor quests and street stories – the latter of which will total 75. But what exactly is a street story, I hear you ask.

Well, they’re like Geralt’s monster hunter quests, apparently, jjustwithout the risk of becoming somebody’s dinner. Hopefully…

The news comes after we were told that CD Projekt Red’s next big release wouldn’t rival The Witcher 3 in content. But from what I’ve read today, it won’t be far off – at least in comparison to the base game. That’s because there are numerous side activities to keep us entertained beyond the main story. And they’re probably tied to a few trophies, too, which will only give us further reason to play.

As John Mamais put it in an interview with onMSFT:

There’s a couple of layers. There’s a passive layer, which is the vendors, then there’s the STSs, which are the street stories. I think there’s around 75 street stories. Then there’s minor activities as well.

The street stories are like little quests. There’s story but there’s not, like, advanced cinematic storytelling sequences so much. They’re a way to explore the world and level-up your character.

With regards to DLC, he was rather tight lipped over what form they would take – only going as far to say that their strategy on The Witcher 3 worked well for them last time, so they’ll be doing something very similar, adding:

There’ll be stuff that comes out after. The Witcher model kind of worked for us.

I’m not allowed to say what it will be but it’ll probably be something like The Witcher. I wish I could talk about it more because, for us, it’s very interesting. But we can’t.

Finally, we also found out that a number of measures are to be implemented to ensure nobody suffers from motion sickness. Specifically, the amount of head movement and depth of field can be manipulated by the gamer.

There’s stuff planned so you’ll be able to change your depth of field, reduce the head-bobbing effect, and some other stuff that we want to do to make sure that people don’t get sick.
