Is it November 19th yet?
The latest Night City Wire extended look at Cyberpunk 2077 starts by putting you in the driver’s seat. Vehicles come in four different classes from the boring economy to the powerful heavy-duty to the sleek sport class. Each of them will feel different as you drive, and another section gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how they recorded the audio for the cars by hitting a race track with a pro driver pushing cars to the limit, just like you will in the game.
Motorcycles also appear in the game. Alongside Keanu Reeves, his company’s bikes, Arch Motorcycles, were used as the template for some of the futuristic rides. They were also used for recording the sound.
The next big chunk of the trailer is dedicated to fashion, and there are four categories here as well. Each of the styles reflects the financial situation or philosophies of the group from the Anarchy Rebellion to Neokitsch to, my personal favorite, Neomilitarism. You can’t beat a functional focus on substance. The styles are unique and interesting, and it should give you an idea of who someone is before they even say a word.
I have only scratched the surface of the 24-minute trailer, so there’s still a lot of secrets for you to find as you watch. Cyberpunk 2077 is only a little over a month away with a November 19th release date, and I can’t wait to dive into Night City and all it has to offer.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
