Cyberpunk 2077 will eventually get a Playstation 5 upgrade sometime next year. But when it launches next month, the publishing team wants you to know that it will play pretty great from day one without any extra support. That’s because they’ve said as much on their latest advertising posters, which were spotted in Europe and shared on Reddit. We just don’t actually know what that really means.
The poster can hardly be missed it’s so big, which you can see for yourself below. And lists all of the hardware on which the game will run: Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. But beneath this line, if you’re eyes allow you, you should be able to spot the sentence, ‘Plays great also on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5‘. An addition that is no doubt an attempt to increase sales from the outset. But also a reminder that 99% of all PlayStation 4 games will play on the next regeneration – many of which will benefit from console induced enhancements without the developers having to change a thing.
However, I don’t think this was ever in question. After all, it’s one of the biggest hyped games of the year, so to think we’d be buying the next generation of consoles without Cyberpunk 2077 to go with them is a little silly. That’s because the only other option, should you actually want to play it, would be to wait at least six months – in which time, you’ve stumbled across far too many spoilers and feel the game has been ruined for you. Then it just doesn’t seem worth it, does?
It’s just a shame we’re still a month and bit away from launch.
