Following early access, the public open beta, which is available to everyone will be available to pre-download from Wednesday 18th of August and will launch officially on August 20th. A PlayStation Plus subscription is not needed to take part in either the early access period or the open beta but will be required to access multiplayer features. The early access period will run until August 17th and the open beta will be available until August 23rd.

Diablo II: Resurrected will boast two new character classes, Druid and Paladin, joining the Sorceress, Amazon, and Barbarian classes that were available in the alpha test. Druids are a nomadic race who can shapeshift into a werewolf or other beastly forms with a number of creatures and elemental magic at their disposal.

Paladins are holy warriors and rely on holy magic to combat the Hellspawn. Paladins are pretty overpowered with fierce combat skills and can literally open up the heavens to deliver a bolt of lightning on enemies.

There’s also some incentive to pre-order Diablo II: Resurrected if you own Diablo III as you’ll instantly have access to a Diablo II-themed Transmog for Barbarian classes. For players who pre-order the Diablo: Prime Evil Collection will have access to a Mephisto pet and the menacing hatred grasp wing in Diablo III.
