Days Gone 2 Looks Unlikely as Bend Studio Moves to New IP

Days Gone didn’t set the world alight and it was definitely divisive among critics and fans, but sadly, it looks like Bend won’t be getting a second chance anytime soon.

Sony’s Herman Hulst spoke at length with the PlayStation Blog about various topics, including God of War Ragnarok being delayed, Gran Turismo 7 being cross-gen, and Horizon Forbidden West possible being delayed into 2022 if it can’t reach its Holiday 2021 release window.

Another topic that came up was what Sony Bend is up to and, unfortunately for fans of Days Gone, it’s not Days Gone 2, but instead a brand new property.

“And you know, Bend Studio is working on a very exciting new IP that they’re very, very passionate about. They’re building on the deep open-world systems that they developed with Days Gone. So I’m really happy for Bend Studio,” Herman Hulst said.

It’s shame that we won’t get to see Deacon and Boozer again anytime soon, but maybe Bend will be able to revisit the bleak world of Days Gone at a later date. With that ending, let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later.
