Remember when DayZ was first announced for PS4? No, I don’t either, but that’s only because it was so long ago that I’ve forgotten. But it’s happening, finally.
Strangely enough, there isn’t a big deal being made about the game’s upcoming release; it’s only briefly mentioned on the PlayStation Blog as part of a bigger piece on next week’s new game releases. The popular post-apocalyptic team shooter/survival game has been out on PC for years at this point and it release earlier this year on Xbox One, and now we’re finally going to be able to play on PS4. Just, er, don’t expect much by way of cross-play though, at least not right now.
DayZ will release as a digital-only release on May 29th, 2019. If you’re done with Days Gone and don’t want World War Z, even though it’s on offer for a decent price, maybe DayZ will fill the zombie-shaped hole in your gaming life.
“The post-soviet country of Chernarus is struck by an unknown virus, turning the majority population into frenzied infected. Fighting over resources has bred a hostile mentality among survivors, driving what’s left of humanity to collapse. You are one of the few immune to the virus — how far will you go to survive?”
