Dead Cells is over two years old, and it keeps cranking out new content. The twenty-second content update and the second bit of paid DLC, Fatal Falls, is coming to the game in early 2021. It introduces two new biomes and a new boss. The new biomes are mid-game areas called The Fractured Shrines and The Undying Shores that you can access instead of Stilt Village, Clock Tower, and Time Keeper. Alternate paths in the game keep things fresh, and these new areas are briefly shown in the new teaser trailer today. We also know that new weapons are coming, but that’s also a tease for future info.
I finally played Dead Cells this year through its inclusion on PS Now, and it is fantastic. Many other people think so too. The roguelite has sold more than 3.5 million copies, and the developer has released free major updates to the game.
Coming in Q1 2021, Fatal Falls is only the second paid DLC, and it will cost $4.99. If you’ve never tried it, the tight controls and addictive gameplay are worth your time.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
