Dino Crisis is Getting a Spiritual Successor Called “Instinction” and It’s Releasing in 2022

Dino Crisis has long been extinct and it looks like Capcom has no immediate plans to bring the once-beloved franchise back. Shame, really, because they were good games.

Hashbane Interactive is stepping up to the plate with its spiritual successor called Instinction, and the New Zealand-based developer has released a teaser trailer and a few work-in-progress materials.

According to the developer, the game will be releasing in 2022 for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

“We wanted what many gamers wanted, a modern take on an age-old cult classic, a dinosaur survival game with modern mechanics and a compelling story, after 20 years waiting we had no choice but to make one ourselves, and it had to be amazing so as to pay homage to the original, with full mod support for the community!”

There’s a teaser trailer below but go easy on the excitement; games announced so far out from their planned release don’t always end up seeing the light of day. And while I wouldn’t mind shooting me some dinos with machine guns, there is the unfortunate chance that this one could go the way of the dodo. But fingers crossed it doesn’t; the developer is planning its “full reveal” soon, so we’ll see more then.
