One of life’s truths is that it’s never too early to start planning your weekend, and gaming is taking up a lot of people’s weekends now. Disintegration is the latest game to offer players a chance to take it for a weekend spin. Starting July 30th at 9:00am PDT / 5:00pm BST and running through Monday August 3rd at 9:00am PDT / 5:00pm BST, anyone can play through the full game’s single-player mode and try each of the three multiplayer modes. If you love it, Disintegration will be 40% off during the event, and all progress from the trial will transfer to the full version.
With support from the latest patch, this is the best version of the game yet. Some of the improvements are that the gravcycles feel more responsive, the UI has been improved, and multiplayer has been tweaked to improve matchmaking. More updates are planned for the future, but these are some great steps.
In case you’re not familiar with the game, it’s a mix of shooter and RTS genres. The player rides the gravcycle and commands some ground troops. Neither force is unstoppable, so you’ll need to combine both to overcome your enemies. Despite my criticisms in the review, the genre mix is a cool idea, and I’m hoping we see more ideas like this in the future.
If you are looking for something you haven’t seen a 1,000 times already, the free trial of Disintegration might be the perfect way to spend your weekend.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
