The Twitter account for Doom dropped a teaser trailer for Doom Eternal today. Lasting 16 seconds, we are treated to an ominous voice saying, “What you interfere with now is bigger than you can imagine”. There are little cuts of scenes from the game with other dimensional architecture and ending by taking a chainsaw to attack a demon with a glowing ax. It’s just another day at the office for Doom Guy.

The good news is that you will only have to wait until Bethesda’s E3 presentation on June 9th at 5:30pm PT to see more. I expect we will see more gameplay, and we should finally see a release date. Since I’m a self-proclaimed internet analyst, and based on exactly zero evidence, I’m going to say it will release on October 29th to coincide with Halloween. You can be an analyst too by placing your date of choice in the comments.
Whether we’re right or wrong, I’m just looking forward to playing it.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
