Cross play is becoming a hot topic when it comes to gaming, though usually for the more negative reasons. However, this news bulletin isn’t all bad news, even if it’s not all good news either. That’s because Square Enix have announced that Dragon Quest Builders 2 will have a cross play of sorts, even if it’s a bit less “play” than we’d like.
You see, that’s because you’ll only be able to tour the worlds of other players and share in-game photos on a communal messaging board.
It’s fair to say that it’s quite disappointing – it is a game that would lend itself to an extra pair of hands, after all. But something’s better than nothing, right? At least we can see how one other interprets and tackles each brief.
The news was shared via an interview with Famitsu, where the company also informed us that this social arrangement would be between PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch players.
