We’ve learned a lot about Cyberpunk 2077 since it was announced – the good, the great and the autonomy. But this latest nugget of information is sure to rock your socks off. That’s right, all vehicles in this futuristic dystopia will be tuned into a radio – meaning you can drive around with your windows down and tunes blaring all game long.
Because how else would you drive?
Its lead quest designer, Pawel Sasko, made the announcement, along with the news that your personal garage has space for multiple rides. The video is embedded in the tweet below.
Such radios are rather common nowadays, and sport a selection of channels (aka genres). And I for one have made full use of them – many of Watchdogs’ tunes have made their way into my collection. But players also enjoy listening to their own playlists or streaming services during games, so it will be interesting to see if compatibility for such systems are built in. Everything’s possible in the future, after all.
News did break about a Swedish band creating its unique soundtrack, but would they go the whole hog and compose all the radio’s tracks too using varying musicians? It could work out cheaper than licencing royalties, come to think of it, and would get people talking. Not to mention produce an extra income source when we’re all buying up the inevitable soundtrack release. Bagsy the vinyl edition.
Whistle us the tune you’d like to cruise around to, just make sure it’s not 1D.
