We wrote about how Gearbox announced Duke Nukem 3D 20th Anniversary World Tour at this year’s PAX almost one month ago. Turns out that the remaster is a Gamestop exclusive, at least physically anyway. Today Gamestop updated their listing of the game with a “- Only at Gamestop” to the end of it. Furthermore, when Randy Pitchford, Gearbox CEO, was asked about it on twitter he confirmed the information.

We don’t know if this will be a smart move for Gamestop since a lot of critics project that the 1996 Duke Nukem game won’t fair well into today’s world. Either way it appears that they hold the physical copy rights to the 20th Anniversary Edition. Will you be getting the remaster? Does Gamestop being the only physical store you can buy it at effect your decision? Let us know.
