World War Z, but floaty.
In the Low Gravity event, Harran is under threat from an alien invasion and gravity is all out of wack, but this means that you can have some fun. The altered gravity can allow players to jump higher, fall slower, and use a grappling hook to quickly zip towards a target.
The altered gravity also affects the infected, which is kind of hilarious and bizarre, and means that they reap the same benefits as you do, jumping higher and falling slower. An explosion or a drop kick attack will even launch them high into the air.
The event also comes with new challenges that players can take on, in the local event players will be awarded V-27 Chameleon Machete for killing 100 infected. In the global event, if players defeat 100 million infected, then they’ll be awarded 3 king upgrades.
The low gravity event will last until the 1st of September and is coupled with the astronaut pack. This pack contains weapons and skins which can be modified like the V-23 Eraser which uses laser ammo and burns enemies, or the V-29 defender suit that grants fall damage reduction.
Players will also have access to the V-27 Shifter machete which changes effects, and the V-40 Suspender which can place enemies in suspended animation.
This is a bit of a weird addition, but you’ve got to hand it to Techland for going out of its way to support a game that is over 6 years old at this point, and at the very least it should whet the appetite for Dying Light 2.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human is scheduled for release on December 7th 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
