Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will no longer be releasing in early 2021, as planned. Instead, a new launch date will be made public sometime in the future But with little said or shown since its announcement last September, who knows how close to release it actually is.
Koei Tecmo has today given us an update on Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires. But it’s probably not the update you were hoping for. That’s because the game’s delay has been officially confirmed and we have little to go as to when it will now be released. So, it’s bad news however you look at it.
The game is due to release on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. But it appears both versions have succumbed to the pandemic. Therefore, we are now left waiting on so called “future updates” from the publisher, with no further hint as to when we can expect the news.
Strangely, no apparent cause for the delay has been communicated either, except for the usual ‘they’re striving for the best game possible’ – hence me assuming Covid 19’s involvement. However, maybe there are other issues afoot, such as the cast deciding they no longer believe violence is the answer? Who knows, this could even be the first step towards a new game, which I will christen Dynasty Worriers.
It would certainly fit in with how we’re all feeling at the moment.
All jokes aside and whatever the reason, as Dynasty Warriors 9 proved such a disappointment, I don’t think anyone will complain if Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires launches in an enjoyable and well executed form. After all, we’ve seen in December what happens when that isn’t a case – regardless of a game’s marketing budget…
