Ubisoft’s post-launch support is famously brilliant and that’s not changing with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as the game enters its second year of post-release updates.
Ubisoft has announced today during the publisher’s E3 2021 show, Ubisoft Forward, that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be playing host to a Discovery Tour, similar to those found in Origins and Odyssey, and we’ve also been given our first look at the upcoming Siege of Paris expansion.
The Siege of Paris will take players to old-timey Paris, though it won’t look a lick like it does in Assassin’s Creed Unity. It’s the Viking era, after all… But it’ll still be a wondrous place to explore as Eivor takes on new quests and gets involved in some messy battles. To help those battles feel fresh, Ubisoft is introducing some new weapons and gear, such as the Golden Flame sticky bombs, and some new abilities for Eivor.
There’s also the return of the Black Box Infiltration missions. These missions give you a certain goal, and then it’s up to you how you achieve the end result.
If you’re getting tired of all the killing and raiding, perhaps Discovery Tour: Viking Age will be a nice change of pace when it releases as a freebie later this year. Ubisoft hasn’t set a solid date just yet, but the publisher reckons we’ll be able to take part in old-timey adventures and historical lessons this autumn. Or fall, if you’re on the other side of the big water.
