It looks as if developers are finally putting in the work when it comes to PS4 Pro, but that will be of little comfort to base PS4 owners.
It has been confirmed by the developers, Avalanche and id Software, that Rage 2 will run at the fabled 60fps on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and PC. However, players who use the base consoles will be restricted to 30fps.
While it’s a shame for base PS4 players, I’m betting the PS4 Pro owners are finally starting to feel good about their mid-gen consoles. Ever since the Pro was released, players haven’t been exactly wowed with the difference between the Pro and non-Pro consoles. Hopefully this means that the PS4 Pro will still be relevant once the next-gen consoles release. Perhaps that’ll be the best way to do cross-gen games? Who knows. We’ll have to wait and see.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella. (Bronze trophies, that is – he only has one Platinum.)
