If you missed UploadVR’s first ever E3VR show, then shame on you. But seriously, if you like virtual reality gaming, we suggest you check out the video here. In the meantime, let us fill you in on a few things you missed. If you’ve played Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell, you may be wondering why there is no such game available in VR. Enter Espire 1: VR Operative.
If you check out the juicy gameplay video above, you’ll see some enticing stealth gameplay. Sneaking up on some clueless sentry to take them out is nothing new, but using the headset’s built-in mic to say “freeze” and have them shakily raise their hands? Physically removing an empty clip and tossing it to the other side of the room to distract another hapless guard? That’s why we play VR games.
Developer Digital Lode also shed some light on the games Theatre Control System. Check out the video to get a better idea of what that entails. It does utilize full locomotion, including climbing metal walls with your special gloves.
Espire 1: VR Operative is confirmed for all major VR headsets, including PSVR and Occulus Quest. There is no concrete release date, but Digital Lode says it will be available sometime in August. Hopefully, that means an August release for all VR headsets, and not just our PCVR playing brothers and sisters.
When Jeremy isn’t writing books or playing video games, he’s living his life one random movie references at a time.
