Ubisoft has wrapped up its live E3 2021 show, Ubisoft Forward, and during the show, the publisher showed off a little bit more of Far Cry 6, specifically the Season Pass content.
Ubisoft has announced that the Far Cry 6 Season Pass will be placing players in the boots and suits of some of the past villains of the series.
Far Cry 3’s Vaas Montenegro, Far Cry 4’s Pagan Min, and Far Cry 5‘s Joseph Seed will all be playable characters in three Far Cry 6 DLC episodes. Each episode will zone in on a different villain with their backstories being expanded.
From the description given by Ubisoft, it sounds like each episode will be a roguelike-style experience. The longer you survive, the more perks and weapons you’ll unlock. When you die, you’ll start again, but you’ll have the knowledge of where to find certain weapons, what enemies will appear and when, and so on. It’s not clear, though, if we’ll be able to take on these episodes in third-person; Far Cry 6 has third-person gameplay segments.
The original voice actors also reprise their roles, as seen and heard in the trailer below.
Also included in the Far Cry 6 Season Pass is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon – Classic Edition. If you missed this zany spin-off back in the day, you’re in for a treat.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is set in the cyber-future of… 2007, and you take on the role of the all-American action hero Sergeant Rex “Power” Colt as he storms the island to fight the killer cyborgs with his futuristic laser guns. It’s as ridiculous as it sounds and I’m personally thrilled that I’ll be able to play this one again on modern consoles.
Far Cry 6 releases October 7th, 2021 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna. The dates for the Season Pass content have not yet been announced.
