Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is getting the remake treatment at Ubisoft, but after some backlash online during the game’s reveal, the project has been pushed back. Now it’s being pushed aside for Ubisoft’s big E3 week broadcast.
Ubisoft has announced that Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake won’t be making any kind of appearance at Ubisoft Forward when the publisher streams its online conference later this week.
After the negative reception to the remake’s announcement with many commenting on how poor the game looked, Ubisoft has pushed the game back to next year. To be honest, I thought it looked fine for a remake of a 2003 game…
Ubisoft has posted an update on its official Twitter channel to inform fans that the game is still in development, the team is making great progress, and it’s on track to release next year. But, there will be no updates anytime soon. Here’s the full statement from Ubisoft:
“Ubisoft Forward is around the corner and we wanted to use this time to thank you for the amount of support you have shown us in the last year.
As you might have already read, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will not be in Ubisoft Forward. We are making great progress for our game to release next year, but we are not ready to share any additional information just yet. We will share an update as soon as we are ready.
Until then, we wanted to express our appreciation for your continuous support, as well as your patience with us on our journey. We’re looking forward to the moment when we will be able to share more with you!”
