Enjoy Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy in HDR Thanks to Latest Update

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was never going to get any complaints in the looks department. But that hasn’t stopped Vicarious Visions from updating the game to support HDR.

The visual improvement comes courtesy of the latest update, and aims to ensure you enjoy the remastered bandicoot and his loyal Aku Aku in the most vivid way possible. That’s if you’ve sent 1080p packing and upgraded your set, obviously. It’s bundled in a minute patch, only 560 megabytes in size, and is available now.

But that isn’t all.

The daring marsupial is also getting himself a brand new level. Future Tense is available to download separately from the update in the PlayStation Store, and once completed can be found in the hub of Crash Bandicoot Warped.

This completely original addition is to mark the game’s release on to the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, which are both being marketed as having this new level (it’s branded on to their cases). The futuristic challenge is armed with vertical lasers and horizontal conveyors, as well as a Bonus Level and Death Route. And it’s playable straight from the get go.

Future Tense is the second DLC level to be added to the trilogy, the first being Stormy Ascent. It originally started out as an idea for the first game – a so-called ‘Waterfall Level” that failed to make the final cut – but the team have instead decided to apply the puzzles in a setting more akin to the third. Officially, it’s described as “a whole new level of difficulty” as you’re challenged to “dodge rockets, destroy robots and leaps lasers while ascending a massive futuristic skyscraper.” Unofficially, we describe it as a cure for Vertigo…
