With about a week to go before launch, Sony has dropped the first nine minutes of The Last Guardian on its Japanese YouTube account. We couldn’t watch the whole video because spoilers, but we also could not look away from the video.
It is only nine minutes of a much larger game, but it will not be a graphical powerhouse. The art style is very familiar, and that is a good thing. There is even some minor climbing reminiscent of Shadow of the Colossus.
This seems to be a great year for games that used to be trapped in a development black hole. Final Fantasy XV will release on November 29th, and The Last Guardian will hit shelves on December 6th. Is there any other game trapped in limbo that should see release?

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
