Can you actually believe that it’s been 26 years since this beloved blue hedgehog spin-dashed his way into our lives and onto our SEGA Mega Drives?
Neither can we.
As well as two huge releases this year, with the upcoming Sonic Forces and Sonic Mania, SEGA has announced that an exclusive Sonic Mania Vinyl album is being released in partnership with Data Discs, to commemorate Sonic’s 26th anniversary.
Data Discs is the British-based company behind retro SEGA albums such as Streets of Rage and OutRun.
The Vinyl will feature select tracks from Sonic Mania composer Tee Lopes. There will also be new gatefold art included, featuring Sonic, Tails and Knuckles exploring the lush greenery of the Green Hill Zone Act 2.
It will be available in three variations: Sonic Blue, Classic Black and a Limited Edition version. It will be available to pre-order from Data Discs from late July.
Sonic Mania was recently nominated for several Best in Show Awards at E3. You can view the pre-order Sonic Mania trailer here.
Sonic Mania will be available on August 15th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. The game is also available for digital pre-order for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
