The anime and manga Fairy Tale is receiving a new game on your favorite Sony platform. Coming next year, you will be able to experience the adventures of Lucy Heartfillia and Natsu Dragneel as they encounter dark wizards, demons, dragons, and other characters in the Fairy Tale mages guild. More information is coming next week during Tokyo Game Show. (Yes, it really is next week. I checked. Where does the time go?)
It sounds like production is in good hands. The game is being made by Gust, the creators of the Atelier series, and being published by Koei Tecmo. The development team is collaborating with the series author, Hiro Mashima, so fans can probably breathe easy. The goal is to keep everything as authentic as possible.
Fairy Tale is one of those anime I meant to watch but never started. With over 300 episodes (and more coming in the current, final season), it might be a good idea to check out the show or manga, since the game will be open to newcomers and veteran fans. Check back with us next week for more info on the game.
Koei Tecmo Press Release
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
