Fallout 4 Patch 1.12 Finally Brings Mods to PS4

Patch 1.12 has hit the PS4. Along with some fixes to the game, it also brings some delicious, although limited, modding. Oh, well. Maybe Sony will open up the flood gates for the PS5, and maybe some of you will stop using any creative freedom as an opportunity to fill a game with penises.

If the patch did not automatically download, throw the Fallout 4 disc into the PS4, and it should pop up immediately. You will also need a Bethesda.net account to access the mods, and this will be entered in the game menu. There are also warnings about playing with mods, so tinker at your own risk.

This joyful news does not apply to PS4 Pro owners. On Bethesda’s twitter, they let those early adopters know that they will receive mod blessings on the next title update.

  • General optimizations and performance improvements
  • Fixed an issue in which some sound effects would not persist after reloading in an area
  • Resolved an occasional crash when exiting to the Main Menu, and trying to start a New Game
  • Fixed an issues with spaces in Mods search queries
  • Cannot rate “WIP” Work in Progress Mods, and Mods can now only be rated after they have been downloaded
  • Doubled the amount of browse-able tiles in the Mods menu
  • Fixed a rare crash that would occur when a Mod had an unexpected data structure
  • Fixed an issue in which Library and/or Favorite Mods categories would not display correctly in specific situations
  • Fixed an issue in which some Mods images would not load when scrolling quickly
  • A Sentry Bot firing dual Gatling Lasers will no longer cause the audio to cut out
