Fallout Shelter Probably Won’t Get a PS4 Release

As you’ve probably heard by now, Bethesda’s free-to-play Fallout Shelter has been released on the Xbox One and Windows 10. While we’re happy for our fellow gamers to be getting another game, we’re a little miffed that PlayStation players haven’t had the same opportunity as Fallout Shelter for PS4 hasn’t been announced.
Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it will anytime soon. Bethesda’s Pete Hines has remarked on Twitter that while the game is available on Xbox One, it wasn’t created for the platform. The game was made for Microsoft’s UWP (Universal Windows Platform) which the Xbox One is a part of, so it kinda worked by default. Basically, there was no major effort in getting it to run for the Xbox One, so it’s doubtful that Bethesda would bother making a version specifically for the PS4.
While it’s a bit of a shame and we’ll have a moan for a few days, it’s still available on the Google Play and Apple store for free. We’ve all still got smartphones, right?
